The main products contributing to the growth of Juhayna’s revenues in the third quarter (Q3) of 2017 are diary and juice, representing 49% and 23% of the revenues respectively, according to the report of the consolidated business results issued by Juhayna Food Industries, a major Egyptian dairy, yoghurt, and juice manufacturer.

Juhayna Food Industries recently announced its consolidated business results for Q3 2017, which showed that the company during the period achieved revenues worth EGP 1.684bn, with a 34% increase y-o-y. On the other hand, net profit reached EGP 76m in Q3, excluding the impact of non-recurrent net expenses worth EGP 11m with an annual increase of 27%, accompanied by an increase in the net profit margin to 4.5%.

“The growth of revenues during the third quarter was mainly driven by an increase in the dairy and juice segments’ revenues, which climbed 21% and 18% y-o-y to EGP 2.101bn and EGP 960m respectively in the first nine months of 2017,” said the consolidated business results report issued by Juhayna.

During the first nine months of 2017, Juhayna’s revenues reached EGP 4.5bn, an increase of 23%, compared to the same period last year. The net profit reached EGP 169m, while the net profit declined to 3.7% compared to last year’s 4.6%.

“Due to a slight recovery of the market and the measures Juhayna took, like slashing down our expenses to the minimum, enhancing our operational efficiencies, optimising our sales, slimming down our inventory, and trimming our debts, the company was able to achieve a growth revenue of 7% in the third quarter compared to Q2 2017,” said Safwan Thabet, the chairperson and CEO of Juhayna.
