Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Kabil said on Thursday that the ministry will implement the programme “The Better Work” by June, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Exporting Council for Textile.
The minister added in a press statement issued on Thursday that the programme aims at raising the competitiveness of exported Egyptian products by receiving certified approvals from the programme, which allow the products to enter different markets and finally increase the rate of Egyptian exports.
The duration of implementing the programme will be decreased to 6 months instead of 18 months due to the high quality of Egyptian factories, Kabil noted, adding that the programme will start with the textile sector, and other sectors will be added during the programme’s duration.
Two international forums will be held in November to gather buyers, producers, and exporters in the textile industry, says Kabil.
