Sources at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) revealed that the Minister of Military Production, Mohammed Al-Assar, met with members of the Chamber of Engineering Industries on Tuesday. A number of car manufacturers and its feeding industry suppliers attended the meeting.

The sources pointed out that the Ministry of Military Production offered auto companies to manufacture new components of cars that had originally been imported and emphasised the readiness of the ministry’s factories to manufacture these components with advanced technology.

The manufacturers of the Chamber of Engineering requested the ministry to manufacture three new parts:  aluminum-steel alloys for exhaust pipes, which are imported at  high costs, foam and sponge as materials needed for manufacturing car seats, and car screws which require high technology for manufacturing—this technology is available in Factory 45 for Military Production.

The ministry is ready to introduce the details and capabilities of each factory at the Ministry of Military Production in order to send them to the Chamber of Engineering Industries to facilitate the entry of new components as well as to provide an opportunity for members of the chamber to submit their demands to the ministry regarding the manufacturing of new components for engineering industries.
