After FC Barcelona lost to Paris SG, Messi postpones visit to Egypt

Argentinean football star Lionel Messi, playing for FC Barcelona, postponed his visit to Egypy which should have taken place Wednesday morning, according to Prime Pharma’s press office.

Prime Pharma’s press office added that the visit will take place soon, and a press release will be issued to notify about it.

On Tuesday, a day before the expected visit, FC Barcelona lost to Paris SG 4-0, at the 2017 Champions League. As a result, Messi delayed his visit to Egypt.

Prime Pharma started a campaign titled “Tour and Cure,” to promote tourism in Egypt. The campaign is supported by the Egyptian Ministries of Tourism and Aviation.

As Messi is a popular and beloved sports figure worldwide, Prime Pharma chose him as a main pillar for the campaign. His visit aimed at promoting the fight against hepatitis C in Egypt.

This visit gained its importance as it is considered the first real and practical step for the private sector towards refreshing tourism in the country.

To welcome the footballer, huge and prestigious preparations were made, all of which were suspended and to be resumed when Messi is set to arrive to Egypt.

Famous figures, such as Amr Adeeb, a renowned TV presenter, highly promoted for this visit, knowing how big Messi’s fan base in Egypt is.
