A homemade bomb exploded Tuesday night on University Bridge in Giza, causing no injuries and only slight damage to a car.

The bomb exploded near the former Israeli embassy, although it appears the explosion had no particular target.

Bombings in Cairo and Giza have become frequent since the ousting of Mohamed Morsi on 3 July 2013. Explosions almost always target security personnel, although a suicide bombing in Taba on 16 February killed three tourists and their Egyptian bus driver.
