Members of Tamarod’s leadership are urging their members to avoid protesting at the US embassy, noting that although the movement opposes US policies, it is not against American citizens.

The Daily News Egypt spoke to Tamarod movement leader and spokesman Hassan Shahine, who said the party encouraged its supporters to stay in Tahrir square.

“We are not against the US embassy, we are against the US policies and their clear support and coalition with the Muslim Brotherhood,” said Shahine.
