ISMAILIA: Ismaili are set to sign Moroccan forward Abdessalam Benjelloun should he pass a medical on Wednesday.

Benjelloun has arrived in Ismailia early Wednesday and will join the Egyptian team on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old international has been playing for Scottish club Hibernian for the last four years. He went out on two loan spells with Charleroi and Roeselare.

Ahly were long-time admirers of Benjelloun and they agreed terms with the player last summer but the move was stalled.

After losing to JS Kabylie in the African Champions League, Ismaili manager Mark Wotte demanded the immediate signing of at least two strikers.

Ismaili don’t have much time to land another forward as the registration window of the Egyptian Football Association will close on Thursday.
