CAIRO: Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan said on Tuesday that he is sure that his Anderlecht side will qualify from their tough UEFA Cup group.
Anderlecht were drawn alongside Hapoel Tel Aviv, Getafe, AaB Aalborg of Denmark and Premiership side Tottenham, for which Egyptian Hossam Ghaly plays, in Group G of the competition.
All of the groups are equally tough, but I’m pretty sure we can advance to the knockout stages, said the veteran midfielder.
Hassan also expected his team’s match up with Tottenham to be a strong clash that will attract a lot of Egyptian viewers.
Spurs have a strong fan base in Egypt because of Ghaly, and I’m sure they will enjoy the game between Anderlecht and Tottenham, who will both probably advance to the next stage.
Anderlecht’s first game will be at home in Brussels against Hapoel on Oct. 25.
