CAIRO: Egypt moved up two spots in the FIFA monthly ranking to settle in the 25th place for October 2006.

The Pharaohs, who only managed a goalless away draw against Botswana in their last African qualifier, benefited from the bad results that other national teams produced.

The countries whose results made way for the national team to move to 25th place were Paraguay, Guinea and Colombia.

Egypt is still holding top spot among the Arab nations in the FIFA ranking for the second successive month and moved one slot up to replace Guinea as 5th in Africa.
