Egypt seeks strategic partnerships with global companies to boost manufacturing capabilities

Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gamblat said the ministry is committed to implementing President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s directives to strengthen international cooperation, expand partnerships with global companies, and benefit from advanced expertise and technologies to develop national manufacturing capabilities and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.

Gamblat said the ministry is open to various cooperation opportunities that add value to the national economy and support efforts to localise modern manufacturing technologies.

His remarks came during a meeting with Olivia Toderean, Romania’s Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss areas of mutual cooperation.

At the start of the meeting, Gamblat stressed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and opening new avenues for strategic partnerships with Romanian companies in areas of mutual interest. Such cooperation would help maximise the benefits of available manufacturing capabilities and advance shared interests.

The meeting included an exchange of views on a number of issues and discussions on opportunities for future cooperation, with the aim of strengthening Egyptian-Romanian relations and supporting industrial and investment partnerships between the two sides.

Gamblat said the Ministry of Military Production’s primary mission is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and police for various weapons, ammunition, equipment, and advanced electronic systems.

He added that the ministry also uses surplus production capacity at its affiliated companies to manufacture high-quality civilian products at competitive prices, supporting the state’s efforts to deepen local manufacturing. The ministry also participates in the implementation of numerous national and development projects.

For her part, the Romanian ambassador expressed her appreciation for the Ministry of Military Production’s distinguished manufacturing capabilities and accumulated expertise. She praised the ministry’s workforce, its strong reputation in the industrial sector, and its commitment to implementing joint projects according to agreed timelines and international standards.

Toderean affirmed Romania’s commitment to supporting and strengthening cooperation with Egypt, stressing the importance of maintaining communication and coordination between the two sides.
