Uptown 6 October, in partnership with Global School Management (GSM), has begun construction of the Kingdom of Knowledge International School in Uptown 6 October City, with the school scheduled to open for the 2027/2028 academic year.
The school is being developed on a 20,000 square metre campus and will accommodate around 1,680 students following the British National Curriculum. Facilities will include classrooms, science laboratories, a library, arts and music rooms, sports amenities, and a range of educational and recreational spaces.
The partnership between Uptown 6 October and GSM aims to introduce internationally recognised education standards to the growing West Cairo community. Ahmed Abouzaid, Chairperson of Uptown 6 October Group, said the project represents “a step toward making education a central pillar” of the Uptown 6 October development.
Moataz Shaarawy, Chairperson of Uptown 6 October for Investment and Educational Development, added that the school is designed to offer “high-quality British education” delivered in collaboration with an experienced global operator.
GSM manages more than 165 schools worldwide, providing British, American, and International Baccalaureate curricula. Led in the Middle East by Professor Shaun Robinson, the organisation is expanding its network across the region to broaden access to international education.
Uptown 6 October is developing a mixed-use urban community integrating residential, educational, healthcare, and recreational facilities, with the Kingdom of Knowledge International School set to become one of its key anchor institutions.
