Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, recently held a series of high-level meetings with senior executives of prominent US companies in New York. The discussions aimed at deepening US investments in Egypt’s outsourcing sector and enhancing collaboration in digital capacity-building.

The meetings underscored Egypt’s position as an emerging global hub for cross-border digital services, emphasizing the country’s tailored digital outsourcing strategy. This strategy includes a range of incentives designed to help international companies grow and expand their operations within the sector.

During his visit, Talaat engaged with a variety of industry leaders. His first meeting was with John Abu, Chairperson of TTEC, a global pioneer in customer experience (CX) technology and services. The conversation focused on TTEC’s current investments in Egypt, plans for expanding IT services, and future opportunities for collaboration through TTEC Digital, the company’s innovation and technology arm. In February, Talaat had inaugurated TTEC’s new facility at Maadi Technology Park, which serves international clients using multilingual Egyptian talent.

Talaat also met with Balazs Toth, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell, a global leader in smart city technologies and industrial automation. Their discussion revolved around the expansion of Honeywell’s Centre of Excellence in Egypt, with a focus on smart city solutions and local manufacturing opportunities. They also explored partnerships with Egypt University of Informatics to offer joint digital capacity-building programs.
