Russia’s Bolshoi Theatre has opened its 250th anniversary season with a gala concert featuring excerpts from some of its most famous productions, a TV BRICS report said.
The concert’s playbill included titles such as “Sleeping Beauty,” “Iolanta,” “The Nutcracker,” and “Swan Lake.”
The landmark season will include a number of new premieres, with artists and management outlining plans for the year. Preparations for the season included ballerinas training by the sea during their vacation to maintain their form.
