Egypt Post will offer railway ticket-booking service through its offices within a few months, said Chairperson of Egypt Post Essam Al-Sagheer told Daily News Egypt last Friday.

The authority has also installed 400 ATMs at several post offices nationwide, and will add 300 more before the end of the fiscal year.

Moreover, Egypt Post has installed 12 Bosta Express postal kiosks at Watanya Chillout gas stations on highways as part of its plan to spread and provide advanced services. The authority studies installing these kiosks in public universities to offer various postal services for university students.

Bosta Express provides many government services, such as renewing national ID, issuing clearance and civil status certificates, and paying mortgages and tuition fees. The new generation of post offices will also have delivery service and interactive ATM machines that enable customers to open new accounts, and get debit cards linked to a customer’s account and checks.

Egypt Post signed a cooperation protocol with Tamweely for microfinance last December. The deal aims to facilitate application for small and micro loans through post offices nationwide. Tamweely will update users on the status of their loan applications through SMS service.
