A pro-Morsi rally in Damietta was cut off by local residents, according to Al-Dostour Party member Ahmed Abu Omar.

According to Omar, the march numbered “between 1,000 to 2,000 people” and was heading to Basta Square, before it was cut off between Olwy Bridge and Maadany Bridge.

6 April Youth Movement member Magda Abdelrazik said that there had been rock throwing, but no injuries.

The remaining members of the rally that made it to the square were chased out by nearby shop owners, Abu Omar said.
