Suez Canal Bank (SCB) has signed a cooperation protocol with e-Aswaaq Misr, a subsidiary of e-Finance for Financial and Digital Investments, to expand financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and support entrepreneurs through more efficient and integrated digital solutions.
The partnership supports SCB’s strategy to reach new customer segments across priority sectors, particularly in remote and underserved areas. By leveraging e-Aswaaq Misr’s digital platform and nationwide footprint, the Bank aims to streamline assessment procedures and reduce operational costs.
The agreement was signed during Cairo ICT 2025 by Akef El Maghraby, CEO and Managing Director of Suez Canal Bank, and Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairperson of e-Finance, in the presence of Khaled Mekky, Head of Embedded Finance at e-Aswaaq Misr; Shehab Zidan, Deputy CEO and Managing Director of Suez Canal Bank; Omar Nasser, Head of SME Banking at the Bank; along with senior executives from both sides.
The cooperation aligns with SCB’s strategy to support SMEs and entrepreneurship as engines of economic growth and job creation. It also strengthens the Bank’s role in promoting financial inclusion by expanding access to banking services, in line with Central Bank of Egypt directives and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

El Maghraby described the partnership as an important milestone that will enable SCB to offer tailored financing programmes that help entrepreneurs and SME owners grow their businesses and enhance their competitiveness locally and regionally. He noted that the collaboration will provide clients with faster, more flexible access to funding through a fully digital process, ensuring accurate and efficient evaluation of their business needs.
For his part, Sarhan said the agreement represents a significant step toward connecting traders and business owners to an integrated digital banking ecosystem built on advanced technology. This, he added, will accelerate digital transformation and enhance productivity across multiple sectors.
He emphasised that e-Aswaaq Misr is working to transform traditional supply chains into a fully digital ecosystem that integrates sales, purchasing, financing and logistics within a single platform, broadening access to funding and supporting productive sectors to strengthen their contribution to sustainable economic growth.
