Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed progress on the “Terminal 4” project at Cairo International Airport during a meeting on Sunday with Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny at the government headquarters in New Alamein City.

Madbouly stressed that the new terminal is a strategic project designed to deliver a major upgrade in services and infrastructure at Egypt’s busiest airport. He added that “Terminal 4” is expected to serve as a global model in airport design and operation.

During the meeting, El-Hefny outlined the project’s technical and operational features, confirming that construction is being carried out in line with the latest international standards. He said the terminal will be able to accommodate at least 30 million passengers a year, raising Cairo International Airport’s overall capacity to around 60 million annually. The project is also being implemented in full compliance with safety, security, and environmental sustainability requirements.

The minister noted that the plan includes building a new runway equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and ground lighting systems, extensive solar-powered car parks, and a modern road network to ensure smooth access. Additional supporting and operational buildings will also be developed in line with global benchmarks.

El-Hefny added that the terminal will incorporate the latest smart technologies, positioning it among the most advanced passenger facilities worldwide.
