In a world where everything is digitalized, technology has shaped people’s lives, leaving an engraved imprint in every single aspect. While some businesses still struggle to completely rely on technology, Intel marks its print at the front of the rally as a leading digital corporation. The technology hub is the nucleus of cloud computing and one of the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturers.

“For more than 50 years, Intel has had a profound influence on the world, driving business and society forwards by creating amazing innovations,” delightfully Intel’s Client Computing Group Sales Director, EMEA Territory Taha Khalifa said.

He added “Intel creates world-changing technology that enables global progress and enriches lives. It works to advance the design and manufacturing of semiconductors to help address customers’ greatest challenges. By embedding intelligence in the cloud, network, edge and every kind of computing device, Intel unleashes data’s potential to transform business and society.”

From Khalifa’s point of view, Intel’s expansion came as a part of the rapid growth in digitalization as it showed profound evidence in driving business growth across the globe through “facilitating greater efficiency, streamlining processes, and improving the delivery of innovation and services, technology is certainly playing a critical role in driving business growth.”

He further elaborated on the important role technology plays in simplifying tasks, explaining that it makes a huge difference in reducing the time and effort dedicated to each task as well as improving accuracy. This is usually reflected in enabling companies to make better use of time and resources in order to concentrate on more strategic action that contributes to growth.

“Technology has further enabled the use of data in making informed and effective decisions, leading to better business outcomes. This is also facilitating the development of innovation and streamlining business processes, which can help businesses stay competitive and differentiate from others,” he added.

Khalifa jumped back in time for over five decades, remembering the start of Intel’s digital transformation prior to any competing corporate, through non-stop work by all of the corporate passionate employees.

“For more than five decades, we have continuously worked towards delivering world-changing technology that improves the life of every person on the planet,” he excitedly said explaining that Intel’s purpose “is enabled by our technology and delivered through the expertise and passion of our employees. The company’s longstanding commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainability — built on a strong foundation of transparency, governance, and ethics — is deeply integrated throughout all aspects of our business.”

Over the years, the company has been adopting a strategy called RISE where the employees and business owners are raising the bar for themselves and evolving the corporate responsibility strategy to increase the scale of their work with others to create a more responsible, inclusive, and sustainable world, enabled through technology and our collective actions.

Khalifa asserted that in view of the need to remain competitive and respond to changing needs and expectations for customers and stakeholders, “we continue to evolve as a business.”

Reflecting on the present time, Intel is currently adopting a new project called “Mustakbal” (The Future) with the aim of supporting governments and ecosystems in the region as they harness the world of data and diversify their economies beyond oil dependency.

“Through this unique project, Intel lends its technical, sales, and marketing resources, and creates partnerships with key ecosystem players including OEMs, ISVs, and SI’s that offer end-to-end solutions, scaling from edge computing to the network, the cloud, and the emerging field of AI and autonomous driving,” Khalifa explained.

He further added that the initiative started taking steady steps in the Middle East, as it “rapidly established a sound IT ecosystem and a shared goal to capitalize on Intel knowledge to the benefit of the region.” Intel succeeded in partnering with prominent collaborators including telco operators, prominent universities, technology-leading government agencies and regional system integrators.

“It’s critical to work with our customers and partners to accelerate the digital transformation initiatives in the region and align with the great 2030 visions of growth, diversification and digital infrastructure,” he commented.

He confidently added that Intel relies mainly on the “edge-to-cloud strategy, portfolio, and expertise enable us and our partners to deliver solutions that help accelerate the region’s technology growth opportunities.”

We built a consistent strategy based on technology and thought leadership, enabling digital literacy infrastructure, and establishing an innovation centre to showcase the latest technology solutions for Intel and its partners in the region which helped grow our business and establish strong collaboration with our customers and partners, he explained.

Influencing business in the regional environment

Intel believes that the corporation has key enablers that influence the technology business positively in the region. The main factors fall under the increasing government support across the region in the fields of technology, innovation and digital transformation.

“We have launched key strategic projects across the MENA region in alignment with various governments’ 2030 visions on digital transformation. Moreover, digitalization has led to increased demand for skilled workers throughout the region,” Khalifa explained.

Intel offers governments digital literacy programs that can help improve skills and training, especially in the area of Artificial Intelligence, in which the corporation leads the way.

The corporation also leads the way in showcasing the importance of diversity and inclusion and their positive impact on work productivity and quality.

“We at Intel believe that diversity and inclusion are essential for innovation, while at the same time, the company has a 100 per cent commitment to advancing research and development across all levels of the company. Diversity and Inclusion are foundational to our business and its purpose in driving innovation and delivering strong business growth,” he elaborated.

Among the adopted responsibility Intel also believes important, is to influence peers to save the planet and stand against climate change.

Taking actual steps as one of the world’s leading semiconductor design and manufacturing companies, Intel believes in its unique position to make a difference not only in its own operations, but in a way that makes it easier for customers, partners, and our whole value chain to take meaningful action too.

“Intel continues to be fully committed to the necessary actions, investments, innovations, and collaboration to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our operations. The company continues its multi-decade journey to deliver technology at high standards of environmental responsibility,” Kahlifa said.

He concluded by saying that with leadership comes responsibility. A commitment to the environment and to reducing greenhouse gas emissions is not an option, but an obligation. It is an opportunity to bring the entire value chain together, innovate and achieve a common goal. No company can do it alone, we need to work together for the greater good.
