Egypt’s Ambassador in Sudan Hany Salah denied reported claims that the Egyptian Assistant Military attaché in Khartoum was killed.

He said that all members of the Egyptian diplomatic mission in Sudan are safe, including members of the defence office, according to a Monday press statement by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry.

Also on Monday, Egypt evacuated 468 Egyptian nationals from Sudan, as fierce fighting continues in the neighbouring country.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that 134 nationals were evacuated via air and 334 via land on Monday, in addition to the 436 nationals evacuated on Sunday.

The Foreign Ministry added in a Monday statement that the Egyptian diplomatic missions in Khartoum, Port Sudan, and the Wadi Halfa area will continue to coordinate with the Egyptian nationals in Sudan to secure their evacuation.
