The 26th edition of the Cairo ICT 2022 Exhibition and Conference kicked off on Saturday and will run until 30 November, with 400 Egyptian and international companies specialised in technology and communications solutions participating in the event.

This year’s conference is being held under the theme of ‘Leading Change.’ The exhibition is the most prominent regional platform for bringing and reviewing the most important trends and technologies in the sector.

Osama Kamal — CEO of Trade Fairs International, which organised the exhibition — said that this year’s Cairo ICT session is taking place while governments’ interest in technology and its applications has reached its peak given the clear role that technology plays in accelerating the pace of economic development, improving the attractiveness of different countries for investments, and creating a distinguished business climate.

Cairo ICT deals with many and more accurate areas, including the impact of cloud computing and giant international data centres on the sovereignty of countries, as well as the issue of securing countries, institutions, companies, and various entities from the risks associated with digital transformation by allocating a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity applications and technologies based on satellite communication.

This is in light of the revolution taking place in the metaverse — which has become more mature after injecting a lot of capital into it and may result in a comprehensive change in the way people communicate — launching a new stage this year in relation to fintech.

This is after the most prominent global events called for the importance of advanced financial inclusion applications by launching a new accompanying exhibition specialised in insuretech parallel to the activities of the 26th Cairo ICT Exhibition and the second session of the Connecta Exhibition for entertainment technology, including electronic games, smart devices, and Arab-African competitions, all of which are being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Among the most important new events in this session of Cairo ICT, Kamal revealed, will be the holding of a conference for the first time to discuss everything related to manutech, which is sponsored by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, given the state’s interest in fostering manufacturing and export and avoiding supply chain problems globally and regionally.

For his part, Chairperson and CEO of Benya Group Ahmed Makki expressed his happiness at the presence of the group at CairoICT as a main sponsor, stressing the need to find innovative solutions to keep pace with the rapid developments in the world, which Benya group and its subsidiaries always strive to meet for its customers in cooperation with various global and local partners, pointing out that Benya Group, as the main sponsor of the exhibition, aims to review the latest services and innovative technological solutions, in addition to presenting the latest results in its existing projects locally and regionally.

Kamal also pointed out that Cairo ICT is witnessing great momentum at the level of participants, including senior officials, technology leaders, and exhibiting companies, but is particularly celebrating this year the first appearance of the National Emergency and Relief Network, which will display its working mechanisms during the activities of the event.

The 2022 session of Cairo ICT is being held under the auspices of Benya Group a leading provider of integrated communications solutions and services and the official sponsor of the event; e-finance group for financial and digital investments and the strategic partner; Huawei, the technology partner; Dell Technologies,  the title sponsor; CIB, the platinum sponsor; Cisco, which is also a platinum sponsor; Microsoft, the cloud sponsor; and Fortinet, a global specialist in network security devices and a golden sponsor.
