Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that targeted a base belonging to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS(, southwest of the capital Mogadishu, Tuesday.
The attack killed and injured several mission personnel from Burundi.
The government and people of Egypt expressed their sincere condolences to the government and people of Burundi and to the families of the victims.
Egypt reiterated its full solidarity with ATMIS in the face of all forms of violence and terrorism, and its full support for its efforts to achieve stability in Somalia.
