Egypt to host Modern Pentathlon World Cup in March

Egyptian Minister of youth and sports, Ashraf Sobhy has witnessed the signing  of a cooperation protocol to host the Modern Pentathlon World Cup in the stadiums of the American University in New Cairo.

The Pentathlon World Cup will run from 20 to 28 March, with the participation of 200 male and female athletes from 35 countries.

Sobhy thanked the American University for hosting the Modern Pentathlon World Cup.

He praised the role of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation in preparing the players and implementing their training plans to prepare for the upcoming tournaments.

The Modern Pentathlon World Cup is an annual series of modern pentathlon competitions organised by the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM).

The Pentathlon is an Olympic sport entailing five distinct types of competition, which are fencing, freestyle swimming, equestrian, and a final combined event of pistol shooting and running (the laser-run).
