ADIB – Egypt wins 15 global awards in 2021

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) – Egypt, the leading digital banking service provider in Egypt, received 15 industry-recognized global awards from key international financial institutions throughout 2021, in acknowledgment of its remarkable achievements in Islamic banking, digitisation, and tireless commitment to delivering exceptional services to individuals and businesses alike.

In early 2021, ADIB – Egypt received the Best Islamic Financial Institution Award from Global Finance Awards, in addition to three others from Cosmopolitan the Daily Business, namely Best Islamic Bank in Egypt, Best Digital Bank in Egypt, and Best Retail Bank in Egypt as the bank succeeds in upgrading its digital services offered to retail banking customers. ADIB – Egypt banking system integrates digital technology to facilitate transactions of accounts, payment cards, and including card activation, initiating PIN codes, requesting cheque books and digital wallets via internet and mobile platforms

Alongside, new innovative products introduced to address gaps and meet demand in the banking market, namely financing used Auto, creating new payment channels and launching a new account “Xcite” aiming to attract a younger cluster of customers. Xcite is focusing exclusively on young adults between the ages of 16 and 21, who may have unique interests or banking needs. 

In March 2021, ADIB – Egypt received three more sought after awards from Global Banking and Finance, namely Best Digital Islamic Bank in Egypt, Best Islamic Retail Bank in Egypt, and Best Islamic Corporate Bank in Egypt, for its leading role in advancing the banking products and services additionally abide by Sharia compliance.

Just a month later, the bank went on to receive three more commendations for Best Islamic Bank in Egypt, Best Digital Bank, and Best Sharia-compliant Leasing Service Provider in Egypt awarded by International Business Magazine. These impressive awards further cemented the continued work ADIB Egypt has undertaken to address their customers’ individual and business needs through its investment arms, including ADI Capital, ADIFinance, ADI Consumer Finance, and ADI Microfinance.

At the end of 2021, ADIB – Egypt was named Islamic Bank of the Year by The Banker Awards for its innovation and went on to achieve another two awards from the Global Economics Awards, for Best Islamic Bank in Egypt.

Moreover, a dedicated focus on the continued development of trendy contactless payment devices led to the successful launch of ADIB – Egypt’s first contactless payment wristband ‘Beat’. The first-of-a-kind wearable payment device, representing an innovative, fast, convenient, and safe payment option for daily expenses, “Beat” falls under ADIB – Egypt’s strategy to upgrade digital and electronic payment tools, while expanding an innovative product portfolio that supports the country’s payment strategy. Finally, the bank was recognized as Best Islamic Bank and Best Digital Banking Brand from Global Excellence Awards and Recognition, to honour the bank’s unique offerings to retail banking customers such as electronic bank statements and transformation of all plastic cards to a contactless platform in order to mitigate the risk of contracting COVID-19.
