Those who received the booster dose of the novel coronavirus vaccine will receive a new QR Code replacing the one they got for the first two shots, local media reported

The code is important for those wishing to travel abroad, as some countries require that arrivals should get the booster dose.

Egyptian citizens can receive their QR Code from 120 offices nationwide. A source in the Ministry of Health warned that anyone who forges the QR Code will face 3-10 years imprisonment.

In a related context, the source confirmed that Egypt will receive several shipments of COVID-19 vaccines starting 29 December 2021, pointing out that the Egyptian state works on expanding the vaccine roll-out.

Egypt reported 809 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total infection tally to 383,003 people since February 2020.
