Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi appointed Lieutenant General Osama Roshdy Askar as the new chief-of-staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi appointed Lieutenant General Osama Roshdy Askar as the new chief-of-staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, replacing Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid Hegazi.

Askar was appointed in late 2019 as the Chief Operations of the Egyptian Armed Forces. Prior to that, he was the Commander of the 3rd Field Army then the Unified Command of East of the Canal and an assistant secretary for Minister of Defence in 2017.
