Arab League condemns Kosovo’s opening of embassy in Jerusalem

The Arab League has denounced President of the International Football Association (FIFA) Gianni Infantino’s participation in the opening of Israel’s so-called “Museum of Tolerance” which was forcibly built on the ancient Islamic cemetery of “Ma’man Allah” in Jerusalem, which dates back to the 11th Century.

The pan-Arab bloc’s general secretariat said in a statement on Tuesday, “The participation of the FIFA President in this event violates the principles of the statute of FIFA, and is considered unacceptable politicization of it, and it also expresses a blatant bias towards the occupying countries at the expense of the Palestinians.”

The Arab League explained, “The Palestinian Authority’s decision not to receive Infantino reflects legitimate anger at the behavior of the FIFA President and the provocation it represents to the feelings of the Palestinians.”
