Egypt’s Doctors Syndicate to hold midterm elections on 8 October

The Doctors Syndicates announced, on Monday, that it will hold the mid-term elections for the syndicate board on 8 October. The Syndicate’s statement said that the voting will start from 9:00 to 17:00.

It clarified that each syndicate member, wishing to vote, is required to renew his membership for the year 2020. Eligible voters must be registered in their respective subsidiary syndicates.

Earlier on Monday, the Syndicate announced that the total number of fatalities among doctors due to the coronavirus has reached 600 since March 2021.

Egypt is currently witnessing the fourth wave of coronavirus, with officials warning its peak will be here in three to four weeks.

In parallel, the government intensified efforts to vaccinate citizens against COVID-19 to achieve its target of 40 million immunised people by the end of 2021.
