Egypt’s Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan met with Saleh Farhoud, the head of the Egyptian community in France, to discuss boosting cooperation between both sides to provide insurance for Egyptian workers abroad.

Farhoud hailed the role of the Ministry of Manpower in caring for the people in all countries around the world, stressing that the Egyptian communities formed in European countries play an important role in dealing with employment issues for Egyptians in general, and immigrants in particular.

Moreover the Minister of Manpower said some countries do not have an Egyptian labour office, calling for Egyptian workers abroad to reform Egyptian communities in those countries.

He asserted the necessity of holding elections to choose members of Egyptian communities, who are capable of taking responsibility for claiming and defending the workers’ rights.

Saafan stressed the need to stand in front of the fake unions, which claim to protect workers and their rights. He asserted the need to develop a future vision for workers’ unions and communities.
