Egypt’s NAC is integrated smart city, has no market competition: ACUD Spokesperson

Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC) is an integrated smart city, according to Khaled El-Husseini, spokesperson for the Administrative Capital for Urban Development company (ACUD).

El-Husseini also said that it is being set up with an integrated technological infrastructure according to the latest international standards. It also has a large number of integrated health, educational, residential, commercial, and administrative projects.

As a result, the major national developer has no competitors in the local market, with other developments nearby being complements, instead.

The Noor City co-development project in Capital Gardens City will not affect project sales in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) or their expansion, El-Husseini noted.

He added that the Noor project is an addition to the market and to the NAC project. It is being developed by Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) Holding and the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA).

El-Husseini said that TMG is a national developer and owns a number of successful projects in Egypt, in addition to the group’s project in the NAC. As a result, Noor City is not a competitor to the capital, but rather a complement to it.

“Projects that are being implemented in the NAC capture more than 40% of real estate market sales,” El-Husseini said, “Additionally, Egypt’s property market is huge, is currently the most important and largest in the Arab world, and accommodates all companies and projects.”

He added, “The NAC also holds as a major city, and it will be a smart and sustainable capital of Egypt, which makes it uncompetitive.”

The current year is the year of reaping fruits of the government’s continuous efforts to complete establishing the NAC. This is in preparation for the transfer of ministries and government agencies to the new headquarters there, marking the beginning of the second republic, he disclosed.

El-Husseini said, “In conjunction with intensive government efforts within the framework of crystallising Egypt’s digital strategy, and the celebrations of the anniversary of 30 June revolution, several areas at the NAC will to be ready to receive citizens, especially the government district, which will witness the start of temporary transfer of employees in the last quarter of current year.”

He said that investments are pouring into the NAC, and every day the ACUD receives special offers from Gulf companies. This comes particularly after the successes achieved in the NAC, which is being the most important urban project in the Middle East.

A total number of 238 contracts have been signed in the first phase of the new capital. At the same time, 22% of the network, infrastructure, and civil works of the monorail line passing through the NAC have been implemented, El-Husseini said.

He further noted that the monorail extends for 56.5 km and starts from the Stadium metro station in Nasr City, where the passenger transport service is integrated with the Cairo Metro’s Line 3.

The monorail, which will feature 22 stations, extends until it reaches the NAC, where it will be integrated with the electric train at the Arts Station. El-Husseini said that the full implementation is expected to be completed in 2023.

He revealed that 5% of the main bus station north of the City of Press and Arts has been implemented. He added that it is the central station for all buses that will be operated within the NAC, and is managed by the Ministry of Transportation.
