Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Atty held a meeting, on Sunday, to review his ministry’s efforts in counting its properties and ways to protect them.
The meeting was attended by: Ragab Abdel Azim, Undersecretary of the Ministry and Supervisor of the Minister’s Office; Shehta Ibrahim, Head of the Irrigation Authority; and Ashour Abdel Karim, Head of the Drainage Authority.
During the meeting, Abdel Atty reviewed the efforts made by the ministry’s agencies to inventory the properties, assets, and lands it owns and which are currently unused. This would also seek to determine the best ways to invest and exploit these properties.
The minister said that the data required to activate the electronic system for managing state assets and property is being prepared. This comes as part of the Egypt Vision 2030 and the government’s efforts in digital transformation relating to the performance of state agencies and institutions.
He noted that this process comes in preparation for entering the data of all the ministry’s assets on the system.
This is with the aim of studying and developing the most appropriate ways to maximise the returns and resources of the state, and achieve the optimal utilisation and exploitation of these assets.
Abdel Atty added that all unused lands and administrative buildings nationwide have been identified. The inventory and signature of mechanics and electricity stations and production wells in the central administrations of Egypt’s Delta governorates has been completed.
