Al-Sisi, Guinea-Bissau’s Embaló discuss bilateral relations

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has held a telephone meeting with his Guinea-Bissau counterpart Umaro Sissoco Embaló, during which the two sides discussed bilateral relations.

During the phone call, Al-Sisi praised the historical relations between the two countries, and the mutual support in various fields.

Spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Bassam Rady, said that Embaló stressed his country’s keenness to strengthen relations between the two countries.

He also highlighted Guinea-Bissau’s great appreciation for Egypt, and the latter’s pioneering role in Africa towards meeting the aspirations of its peoples in development.

Embaló also expressed his country’s aspirations for enhancing intra-African trade and investments, and maintaining peace and security across the continent.

The phone call  also touched on ways to boost joint cooperation frameworks at different levels, along with work to improve the trade exchange between the two countries.

The two heads-of-state reviewed means to support the development and building of capabilities, in order to enable them to lay the foundations of state institutions and face challenges such as security and development.
