Egypt’s House of Representatives will receive Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, on Sunday, to outline their ministries’ efforts in implementing government programmes.

The move comes as part of the parliament’s general committee decision to summon Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and 18 other ministers to present their ministry’s position regarding the implementation of the programme. This comes in accordance with Article 136 of the Constitution, and Articles 26 and 27 of the bylaws.

Also on Sunday, several special committees will resume their meetings to discuss a number of draft laws and requests for briefing. It comes in addition to discussions on the work plans of a number of committees during the first session of the new House of Representatives.

The plan and budget committee is monitoring the government’s implementation of its recommendations that it included in its general report on the final accounts of the state’s general budget. This also covered economic public authorities and the National Organization for Military Production for fiscal year (FY) 2018/19.

Meanwhile, the foreign affairs committee will discuss the visions held by its members about the committee’s work plan during the first ordinary session of the second legislative term. The African affairs committee will discuss the role of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development in supporting Egyptian-African relations.

The manpower committee will review the speech made by Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan, which he delivered before the House of Representatives during a plenary session on 25 January. The agriculture committee will discuss a draft law submitted by the Government regarding water resources and irrigation.

The education and scientific research committee is discussing a draft law submitted by the Government, entitled “Establishing the Egyptian Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Technical, Vocational Education and Training”. This comes in cooperation with the plan and budget committee.

On Monday, the House of Representatives will continue its hearing sessions, hosting Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait and Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Kabbaj. They will be followed, on Tuesday, by Minister of Justice Omar Marwan.

Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar will be summoned on Wednesday. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Parliament will listen to Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anany and Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed.
