Egypt’s Culture Ministry marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Egypt’s Ministry of Culture organised on Monday a celebration, titled "We are the Joy", at Al Gomhourya Theater.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Egypt’s Ministry of Culture organised on Monday a celebration, titled “We are the Joy”, at Al Gomhourya Theater.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that this celebration expressed the feelings and dreams of people with disabilities and highlighted their ability.

She added that her ministry aims to integrate people with disabilities into the society through various creative activities, noting that the Ministry sponsors those with artistic talents.

The celebration was organized by the Ministry of Culture represented by the Artistic Theatre House, headed by Ismail Mukhtar, in cooperation with the Egyptian Opera House.

The celebration included an artistic exhibition for the children with disabilities, showcasing about 30 artworks, as well as a musical performance.

Furthermore, the celebration included a presentation of a documentary film directed by Yasser Atiya, showing the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to sponsor people with disabilities in all its sectors.

Ministry of Culture has provided many services to people with disabilities, such as opening specialized classes for talent development, allowing them to study at the Academy of Arts, and establishing the Sun Theater Troupe.
