Orascom Development Egypt (ODE) has signed an agreement with Nermien Ismail Schools (NIS) to establish two new international schools in ODE’s O West project, at an investment cost exceeding EGP 500m.

One school will apply the American education system, while the other will apply the British system IB\IGCSE. The inauguration of the two schools is scheduled for September 2022, a year before the delivery of the first unit in O West. They will feature a blended learning system melding e-learning techniques with traditional face-to-face methods.

The NIS schools in O West are set to accommodate approximately 2,400 students, with each school providing the full range of facilities for students to benefit from.

These include classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, performing arts rooms, swimming pools, and sporting facilities, to ensure the well-rounded quality of the education.

Abdelhamid AbouYoussef, CEO of Orascom Development Egypt, said, “Our cooperation agreement with Nermien Ismail Schools is a solid addition to the educational hub of O West, and a complement to our vision of providing Egyptian students with unparalleled educational services.”

Moreover, Mohamed Latif, Founder and CEO of Advanced Education, which manages NIS, said, “The NIS community has continually been lauded for placing students at the centre of decision-making.”

He noted, “In the aftermath of COVID-19, e-learning and blended learning are no longer an option, but rather they are a categorical imperative in the field of education, worldwide.”

Advanced Education will exclusively manage and operate the NIS schools, as the company provides administrative services to nine schools comprising about 9,000 students, across all educational levels.
