27 out of 60 COVID-19 cases in Egypt have recovered: Health Ministry

Egypt’s Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that the number of recovered coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 27, while the total detected cases are 60, after an Egyptian was diagnosed with the disease at the same day. 

The new infected case was in direct contact with one of the four cases announced on Monday. 

According to the ministry, the newly recovered cases are in stable condition at the quarantine hospital, receiving the needed medical treatment in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO). 

Meanwhile, the total number of infected cases has increased globally to 121,098 cases, while the death toll has also increased to 4,366 cases until mid-Wednesday. According to the WHO, 65,977 people have recovered worldwide. 

The number of infections in Italy is on the rise, reaching 10,149 of whom 631 have died so far, making the European country the second largest in the world in terms of detected cases. Iran has also reported 9,000 cases and 354 deaths.

In the Arab region, Bahrain ranked first, reporting 189 cases, followed by the United Arab Emirates by 74 cases, then Kuwait by 72 cases, and Iraq by 71 cases.
