Two IEDs explode near CSF truck

The Ministry of Interior’s media office announced the explosion of two improvised explosive devices (IED) on the 26 of July Axis Friday morning.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, the bomb “coincidentally” exploded at the time a Central Security Forces (CSF) truck was passing by. The explosions lead to the shattering of the truck’s windshield and injury of a noncommissioned officer.

The statement added that explosive experts have headed to the site of the explosion to clear the area and legal procedures are currently underway.

Several explosions have occurred in Cairo during the past week. Last Friday four explosions targeted both police and public facilities in the neighbourhoods of Bab Al-Khalq, Dokki and Haram.

The largest explosion, a car bomb, targeted the Cairo Security Directorate, leaving 76 injured and four dead. Militant group Ansar Beit Al-Maqdes have claimed responsibility for the explosions.
