Lenovo is number one when it comes to global PC Market laptop markets, and targets 40% of the niche gaming market in Egypt, Rony Mezeraani, general manager for Levant, Egypt, North Africa (LENA) and West Africa, told Daily News Egypt on Tuesday.

Mezeraani’s statement came during an official launch event for the latest addition of the company’s growing line-up of gaming laptops. Lenovo unveiled the Legion Y540 and the IdeaPad L340 gaming laptops.

According to Ola Eldib, consumer and commercial country manager Egypt and Levant at Lenovo, the Legion Y540 boasts a revolutionary cooling system, called cold front technology, that maintains the laptop’s temperature, with much less noise than other cooling technologies.

“Gaming laptops aren’t exclusive for gamers, they are also for architects and engineers who require high graphic performance to run professional software,” Mezeraani elaborated.

In regard to Lenovo’s market share of laptops and PCs, Mezeraani told DNE that in LENA and West Africa region, the company has around 23.5% market share, and they target to increase it to 35% in the near future.

For Egypt, the company’s market share for laptops and PCs stands at above 20%, and they hope to bring it up to 35%, “Egypt is one of our strategic markets, we see a great potential in the country,” Mezeraani stressed.

When it come to the company’s data centre business, he elaborated that Lenovo is strongly positioned in the Egyptian market, and that they have around 500 clients.

Mezeraani revealed that there will be other products in the pipeline, that will be revealed in January 2020 during the Consumer Technology Association event in Las Vegas.
