EFG Hermes snaps brokerage ranking top spot in August with 40% market share

EFG Hermes’ Financial Brokerage Group continued to occupy the first place among brokerage companies in August with a substantial trading value that amounted to EGP 24bn, individually accounting for 40.1% of the total volume of market transactions during the month. This was supported by the implementation of transactions worth EGP 20bn, where the group implemented an exit deal of a shareholder from Edita and the Veon deal, acquiring Global Telecom, as well as floating Fawry on the Egyptian Exchange. 

Its sister company, Hermes Securities Brokerage, came second with EGP 4.6bn, representing a 7.8% market share.

The Commercial International Brokerage Company (CIBC) fell one position from the previous month to third place with EGP 4bn and a 6.7% market share.

Beltone Securities Brokerage remained in fourth place after executing EGP 3.3bn of the total market turnover in the past month, with 5.5% of total market transactions.

Pharos Securities ranked fifth with a total turnover of EGP 1.765bn representing 2.9% of the market, a slight difference from Arqaam Securities Brokerage, which came in sixth place with a 2.7% market share through transactions worth EGP 1.635bn.

It was followed by Naeem Brokerage in seventh position with EGP 1.298bn worth of transactions and holding 2.2% of the market.

Pioneers Securities came in 8th place with operations worth EGP 1.212bn, representing 2% of the market.

Meanwhile, HC Brokerage ranked ninth with a 1.9% market share for EGP 1.13bn transactions.

Mubasher International For Securities was the tenth largest company with operations worth EGP 1.069bn equivalent to 1.8% of the market.
