Messi tops La Liga scorers list

Lionel Messi has become the highest on the list of the top-scorers of La Liga (Big five) after scoring two goals in the match against Girona by 2-0 at the Montilivi stadium within the matches of the 21st round of La Liga.

Lionel Messi took the number of his scored goals to 19, topping the list among Europe’s major leagues, including the German, Spanish, English, Italian, and French teams.

While Kylian Mbappé came second with 18 goals after his goal against Paris Saint Germain by 4-1 in the matches of the 22nd round of the French League.

Moreover, Fabio Quagliarella, the attacker of Sampdoria, and Cavani, the attacker of Paris Saint Germain, both shared the third place with Mohamed Salah, the pride of Egypt’s national team and the English Liverpool with 16 goals.

Salah is preparing to meet Leicester City next Wednesday at Anfield stadium in the 24th round of the Premier League.

The Argentinian was named Liga player of the year 2017/18 at the 71st Grand Gala of leading sports daily El Mundo Deportivo on Monday.

Messi received the award from Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga. Messi has expressed his happiness over receiving the award.

“It is my pleasure to be here, and winning this award is great and valuable. The competition this season was very rewarding and we will continue fighting for more wins and more points,” Messi told the Mundo Deportivo newspaper.

Last season, Messi has managed to win the Golden Shoe after scoring 34 goals, and assisting in scoring 12 others.
