Car companies struggle to stabilise prices after fuel price changes

The car market has received the decision to increase fuel prices with a stabilisation of the delivery prices of the current month, ignoring the projections on social media of the upcoming period and a possible increase in prices.

Some of the companies that have kept their prices fixed are Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Chevrolet, BMW, Toyota, Renault, Mitsubishi, and Ford. The other companies added slight increases to the prices of their cars.

Last month, the car market saw a noticeable increase in the prices, ranging from EGP 1,000 to EGP 15,500.

The biggest surprise was that the car with the highest price was the locally assembled Verna.

The car companies whose prices changed were Hyundai, Nissan, Chery, Renault, Geely, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, and Opel.

Prices of Mercedes-Benz fixed for third month in a row

Mercedes-Benz has kept the prices of April the same in June and July.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz had previously increased the prices of its cars in the local market to range from EGP 20,000 to EGP 40,000.

The increase came after the prices of the models were fixed for nearly six months, during which Mercedes-Benz chose to absorb the price hits following the flotation decision.

Opel keeps June prices

Opel has kept the prices of June the same in July.

Last month, the German brand increased the prices of its Cascada model and the New Insignia by EGP 10,000 and EGP 8,000, respectively. The price of the former is EGP 680,000 and the latter EGP 538,000.

Relative stability of Chevrolet

Chevrolet increased the price of its Aveo model by EGP 1,000 to reach EGP 192,800, but it has kept the prices of its models in July the same as they were in June.

Menawhile, Chevrolet had previously increased the prices of the Aveo, Optra, and Lanos, making the price of the Aveo FL increase by EGP 2,500, making the price of the car EGP 206,000.

As for the Lanos, it has recorded an increase of EGP 2,000, taking the car’s price to EGP 162,900, and the company increased the price of the full-option Optra by EGP 1,000, taking its price to EGP 219,000. The price of the high-line Optra increased by EGP 1,000 as well, making the price of the car EGP 230,000.

Slight increases in Sunny, Sentra

Japanese Nissan added EGP 2,000 to the price of the New Sunny, taking the price of the first class to EGP 215,000, the second to EGP 227,000, and the third to EGP 237,000. It has also increased the price of Sentra by EGP 1,000, recording EGP 299,000.

Last month, Nissan added EGP 2,000 to all the Sunny models, taking the price of the first class to EGP 213,000, the second to EGP 225,000, and the third to EGP 235,000. EGP 3,000 were added to the price of Sentra, making its price EGP 298,000.

Ford stable since May

Ford has kept the prices of its cars the same since May.

Previously, Ford added EGP 10,000 to the Fusion and Kuga models in May’s deliveries.

BMW without changes for fifth month in a row

BMW has kept the prices of February the same for the fifth month in a row, making them the same in July.

The German brand increased the prices of its X models in February. It added EGP 90,000 to the price of the X1, taking it to EGP 850,000. It added EGP 25,000 to the price of the X3, taking it to EGP 1.05m. It also increased the price of the X4, taking it to EGP 1.43m. It also added EGP 60,000 to the price of the X5, taking it to EGP 1.85m, and EGP 50,000 to the X6, taking its price to EGP 3.15m.

Toyota Corolla without price changes

Japanese Toyota has kept the prices of February the same for May’s deliveries.

Last month, the Japanese brand increased the prices of the Corolla by EGP 3,000, taking its price to EGP 355,000 for the highest class.

Renault Logan starts at EGP 187,000

Renault has kept the prices of June the same in July.

It had previously increased the price of the Logan by EGP 7,000 to reach EGP 187,000, and added EGP 15,000 to the price of the Capture to reach EGP 405,000. It had also added EGP 7,000 to the price of the Sandero and EGP 15,000 to the price of the Stepway.

Mitsubishi unchanged

Mitsubishi has kept the prices of June the same in July.

The prices of Japanese Mitsubishi were all the same in July, except for the new Eclipse, the price of which increased by EGP 10,000 during its first month of launching in the local market, making the first-class record EGP 430,000, while the higher class recorded EGP 485,000.

Kia adjusts prices of Cerato and Sportage

Kia has changed the prices of the Cerato and Sportage after a price stability that had lasted for seven consecutive months. The company increased the price of the Cerato by EGP 20,000, recording EGP 320,000, while the price of the Sportage declined by EGP 20,000, taking the price of the car to EGP 450,000 for the first class and EGP 500,000 for the second class.

Emgrand records EGP 191,000

Geely’s Emgrand has recorded an increase of EGP 2,000, taking the price to EGP 191,000.

Last month, Chinese Geely increased the price of the Emgrand 7 by EGP 6,000, recording EGP 189,000.

Chery increases prices of Envy and Tiggo

Chinese Chery has increased the prices of the Envy and Tiggo so that Envy records EGP 169,000 and the Tiggo EGP 246,000.

Ghabbour Auto, the agent of Chery in Egypt, increased the prices of the Envy last month by EGP 6,000, taking the price to EGP 168,000. The Tiggo’s price increased by EGP 5,000, going up to EGP 245,000.

Hyundai increases prices of Verna, Elantra, Accent

Hyundai has added EGP 2,500 to the price of the Verna, making its price start at EGP 180,500. It added EGP 3,000 to the price of the Elantra AD, recording EGP 315,000 for the first class, while it added EGP 2,000 to the price of the Elantra HD, making its price start at EGP 255,900. The company also added EGP 3,000 to the price of the Accent, making it start from EGP 261,900.

Ghabbour Auto increased the prices of Hyundai in June, as the increases ranged between EGP 2,000 and EGP 15,500.

The first class of the Verna recorded an increase of EGP 11,000, taking its price to EGP 178,000, in addition to EGP 15,400 added to its automatic class, which recorded EGP 210,000. The Elantra AD recorded EGP 6,000, as an increase, making its price reach EGP 313,000. Additionally, EGP 2,000 was added to the price of the Elantra HD, taking it to EGP 354,000.

All Tuscan classes recorded EGP 5,000, as an increase, making the price of the model starting at EGP 470,000, EGP 495,000 for the second class, and EGP 542,000 for the highest class.

The Creta saw an increase of EGP 12,000, making its price EGP 412,000, in addition to EGP 4,000 to the price of the Accent, recording a price of EGP 458,000.
