Xiaomi ranks 3rd in world mobile sales in May

Xiaomi ranked third on the list of the world’s top smartphone sellers during May, following Apple and Samsung, the global smartphone market share of which fell slightly last month to 30.15% from 30.7% in April.

Despite the decline, Samsung continued to dominate global sales.

According to a report by StatCounter, Apple ranked second in terms of smartphone market share, accounting for 18.9% of market sales in May versus 19.2% in January, a rise of 0.5%.

For the first time, Xiaomi surpassed Huawei in the market share ranking, reaching 7.1% in May, up from 6.2% in April.

Huawei came fourth in terms of smartphone sales, with a market share of 6.5% in May compared to 6.2% in April.

China’s Oppo ranked fifth with a 4.1% market share in May, up from 3.9% in April.

Meanwhile, LG maintained its market share of smartphone sales in May at 3.1%.

Motorola, owned by Lenovo, declined in the world market share ranking of smartphones, falling to 2.8% in May from 2.4% in April.

Nokia was ranked last among the world’s top smartphones sellers with a market share of 1.5% in May, down from 1.7% in April.
