EgyptAir is awaiting notification from Russian authorities on the approved flight schedule that was sent to the Russian side after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to resume flights between Cairo and Moscow in February.

A source at the company told Daily News Egypt that as soon as the schedule is approved (three weekly flights on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays), the airline ticketing offices will be notified before 1 February to begin booking the flights.

He added that the company started making the necessary preparations at the company’s offices at airports in Russia.

He explained that the director of the company’s Russian office is to obtain the necessary permits for flights, in preparation for the resumption of Russian flights, in addition to reviewing the security procedures and the development of all precautionary measures required by each company, which is stipulated by international aviation laws for all airlines.

Egypt and Russia agreed to carry out six scheduled flights between Moscow and Cairo weekly after a suspension that has been in place since the downing of a Metrojet airliner at the end of October 2015.

According to the information that appeared on the official website of the Moscow Domodedovo Airport, the direct flights between Moscow and Cairo will start operating from 1 February 2018.

The EgyptAir flight MS730 Moscow-Cairo will be operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 15:50.

The EgyptAir flight MS729 Cairo-Moscow will be operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 10:50.

The same information appeared on the official website of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport. It is written that the same flights will be operating from Terminal E of that airport.
