Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Wednesday with his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Messahel. The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between Egypt and Algeria, and the Libyan crisis, according to an official statement.

Shoukry and Messahel evaluated the Libyan crisis and reviewed their efforts and communications with all Libyan parties. Messahel briefed Shoukry on the results of the President Council of Government of National Accord Fayez AlSarraj, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

Abu Zeid added that Shoukry also briefed Messahel on Egypt’s efforts for the reconciliation between Libyan rivals, and the results of his meetings with Al-Serraj and the Libyan Military Commander Khalifa Haftar during Shoukry’ visit to Paris. He asserted that the political solution based on Al-Skhirat agreement is the only solution for the Libyan crisis.
