Qasr Al-Nile Prosecution began investigations into 19 Ultras Ahlawy members over charges of inciting riots, chaos and attempting to break into Al-Ahly FC headquarters, according state-run newspaper Akhbar Al-Youm.

The 19 defendants were involved in a incident which saw Al-Ahly FC headquarters “stormed” for the sake of attending a match, between Al-Jazeerah and Al-Ahly teams, which was scheduled to be played without fans or spectators in the stands, Akhbar Al-Youm reported.

At the beginning of July, 17 Ultras Ahlawy members were released on bail following an earlier clash with security forces outside Borg-Al Arab stadium in Alexandria.

The court ordered 12 of the detainees to pay bail of EGP 20,000 each, while the remaining five had to provide proof of residence in order to be released.

Charges include allegedly assaulting three police officers, three conscripts, and damaging a police car after the fans were banned from attending a match against ASEC Mimosas.
