Egyptian archery champion qualifies for 2016 Summer Olympics

Egyptian archery champion Ahmed El-Nemr guaranteed himself a seat at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, after winning the men’s individual re-curve competition at the 2016 African Archery Championships held in Windhoek, Namibia.

Also in the men’s individual re-curve competition, Egyptian Hady El-Kholosy won the silver medal, while the gold medal went to South African’s Terrence Van Moerkerken.

As for the women’s individual re-curve competition, Egyptians Reem Mansour and Hania Fouda, came in second and third place, respectively. First place went to Kenya’s Shehzana Anwar.

The Egyptian national men’s archery team won silver in the re-curve team competition, while the Moroccan team won the bronze medal. The gold medal was awarded to the South African team.

The Egyptian national women’s archery team surprised the audience after winning the re-curve women’s team competition, where the South African and Algerian teams came in second and third place, respectively.

In the re-curve mixed team competitions, Ivory Cost, Egypt, and South Africa, won gold, silver and bronze, respectively.
