Landlines lose 300,000 customers in November 2015

Landline phones have lost 300,000 users, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s report on the sector indices in November 2015.

According to the report, the number of users declined from 6.3 million in October 2015 to 6 million users in November 2015, amounting to a 2.8% decline.

The infiltration rate of landline phones compared with the population decreased from 7.3% in October 2015 to 7% in November 2015.

Individuals make up the largest share of landline phone users, with 88% of total landline users, while the commercial sector came in second place with 9% and the public sector with 3%.

The Ministry of Communications report showed an increase in the number of mobile phones users by 0.58% in November 2015 compared to October 2015. The number of mobile phone users reached 93.6 million last November compared to 93.1 million users in October 2015.

The number of internet users in November 2015 declined to 32.5 million in November, compared to 33.8 million users in October 2015.
