Minister of defence Sedky Sobhi met with Special Forces Thursday for rapid deployment along with Central Command fighters and officers of the Armed Forces and reviewed security plans related to borders and terrorism.

Sobhi insisted that the Egyptian army, in coordination with civil police, should be more alert following the Russian plane crash and Paris attacks, both countries that have been recently collaborating with Egypt in the provision of arms.

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi also met with Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar to discuss the current needs of the Egyptian army in terms of weapons and ammunition. Egypt has not yet made decisive announcements regarding the alleged bomb on board of the Russian plane, which is now believed to be the cause of the crash, killing over 200 passengers, all Russians.

Egypt’s tourism circumstance is at great risk after several countries suspended their flights there, including Russia, which has conditioned the resumption of its flights according to the final investigation results.
