The bodies of 100 passengers, including 17 children, have been extracted from the wreckage of the Russian aircraft that crash landed in Sinai earlier Saturday, according to Egyptian aviation authorities.

The black box of the crashed plane has been found, as reported by Reuters.

The flight radar tracking service said on its Twitter account that the plane reached the height of 30,000 feet in 20 minutes, then descended 5,500 feet in only one minute.

Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian Minister of Emergency Situations to send rescue planes to assist Egypt.

He also declared that 1 November will be a day of national mourning in Russia.

The Russian embassy in Egypt said that they are collaborating with the Egyptian cabinet to obtain further information.
