Korean-made private cars in Egypt have achieved sales amounting to EGP 2.9bn in the first five months of 2015, while total sales achieved during the same period last year recorded around EGP 12bn.

The Korean car market sold 22,700 cars, out of total market sales that amounted to 76,700 cars. Therefore, the Korean cars market acquired 29.6% out of the private car market in Egypt.

The Hyundai Verna has topped the list of the Korean best seller cars in Egypt, where it achieved sales of EGP 776m since the start of 2015 to May. As the cheapest Korean car in Egypt, the Verna was able to sell over 9,285 cars.

The Verna acquired 12.1% out of the private car market in Egypt, and a 41% share of the sales of Korean cars in Egypt.

As for the Hyundai IX35, it achieved sales estimated at around EGP 685m during the same period, to take second place with 3,312 sold cars. In third place, 2,071 Hyundai Elantra cars were sold, at EGP 316m.
