The prosecutor general’s office has set up a committee comprised of its members to immediately investigate the “terrorist” incident on one of the Cairo metro carriage on Thursday, the general prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The statement added that the attack left a dozen passengers injured. The homemade bomb exploded in the metro on Thursday morning, and the metro has been temporarily suspended.

The committee is responsible monitoring the health statuses of the injured, supervising the criminal investigation teams to attend the crime scene, acquiring evidence, and reporting on possible suspects.

Over the past year, several homemade bombs have been detonated in the metro, on trains, and next to police stations.
